ICD-10-CM and PCS
Reference Books (participants must supply
their own books for training): ICD-10-CM: You may purchase the 2011 or 2012 ICD-10-CM books (courses for 2012 will include
coding for both years in instances where a change is noted since the 2012
ICD-10-CM draft code books will not be sold until Feb 2012) from the
publisher of your choosing. Some
publishers are noted below, but you are welcome to use any publisher you
like. CM books will be used starting
with the very first class (C1). ICD-10-PCS: The 2012 PCS books are already available, but
will not be used until JULY 2012 in our training program. Therefore, you are not required to purchase
the PCS book to start courses C1-C3. |

Optional Online Courses (in
Partnership with MC Strategies/Elsevier): SCHIMA has partnered with MC Strategies/Elsevier to provide
access to two (2) online courses to support ICD-10 training preparation
(please see below). In order to
receive the special pricing as listed in the Training Program Schedule above,
participants must register through SCHIMA using the links below. SCHIMA will serve as the system
administrators for these two web-based courses for access. Technical support related to the software
itself will be addressed by MC Strategies/Elsevier. The online courses are
NOT required to participate in the SCHIMA ICD-10 Training Program, they do
NOT have to be taken/completed before the in-person classes
start, nor do they need to be taken in any specific order. They are simply supporting courses that
individuals may choose to take in accordance with their own personal learning
style and needs. Course REGISTRATION
will be available from 08/29/2011
through 06/01/2012. Course ACCESS will
be available from 09/06/2011 through
08/24/2012. Course registration is on a first-come,
first-served basis and may close without notice based on license capacity. YOU MUST BE AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF AHIMA WITH SCHIMA
SELECTED AS YOUR COMPONENT STATE ASSOCIATION in order to receive the
"Member" rate for our online courses. If you are a
member of another state's CSA, or currently Certification Maintenance Only
status with AHIMA, you may register at the NON-MEMBER rate. |
